KYREPUBLICANS COMMENTARY

- Zogby Report Confirms “Two Americas”
by T.J. Litafik

Zogby International, the respected polling organization, recently
released a report entitled “Two Separate Nations in a Race for
the White House.” By Zogby’s own admission, the report
“reveals that as we enter what promises to be a very contentious
2004 presidential contest, George W. Bush and his Democratic
challenger will be campaigning in two different, yet parallel
universes.”

- Kerry Was No Hero
by Frank Friday

This election would seem mighty weird if it was being held
before 1992, but in the post-Clinton era, it makes perfectly
good sense. The Democrats are angrily sweeping aside what’s
left of potential nominees to give the nod to John Kerry; a 60’s
radical so treacherous Gen. George S. Patton III said he gave
aid and comfort to the communists. And, of course, he has
extramarital problems worthy of his Senate colleagues, such as
Kennedy, Dodd, Inouye, and a bunch more I can’t keep track
of.

- Lieutenant Brenda Cowan, Selfless Hero, Pays the Supreme
Price
by Jeff Smith

In Lexington, KY, sometime yesterday, while responding to an
emergency call to help a lady laying lifeless in her own front
yard, it was later discovered had been shot, Firefighter and
EMT Lieutenant Brenda Cowan, was shot dead while
attempting to give life saving support to the woman.

- Do Dems Understand Their New Target Demographic?
by H. B. Elkins

When Bill Clinton ran for the presidency, especially during his re- election campaign in 1996, you couldn’t escape the phrase
“soccer mom.”

- Gore Endorses Dean. . . a Postscript
by Ray Whitener

It has been three months since Al Gore stepped forward to
endorse Howard Dean for President. Since the December 9
declaration Dean’s popularity has plummeted and Gore has
returned to non-relevance.

- No Justice in Conner-Patton Case
by H. B. Elkins

No one will ever confuse Tina Conner with an innocent victim.
After all, she’s just as capable of reading and comprehending the
“thou shalt not’s” as the next person. So, she had to know what
she was doing in those hotel rooms with former Gov. Paul
Patton was wrong.

- Don’t Be A Dumb Bunny
by Ray Rivera

I celebrated the Great Communicator’s 93rd birthday with a
timely reminder of the chest-swelling optimism and awe-inspiring
opportunities that make this nation of ours second to none. I
treated myself to “Miracle,” Disney’s rendition of the 1980 US
Olympic hockey team that thumped a stronger and more
talented Soviet squad in Lake Placid, New York.

- Press Plays Politics With Nunn's Passing
by H. B. Elkins

For 32 years, Louie B. Nunn was known as Kentucky's last
Republican governor. Some of his detractors said he wanted to
go to his grave with that distinction intact. It almost happened.

- Disorder In the Court
by Dave Hester

So the Massachusetts Supreme Court, by a vote of 4 to 3, has
ordered the State Legislature to amend that commonwealth's
constitution to allow homosexuals the right to marriage and
further clarified that civil unions will not be enough. Good for
them. Why? Because overall it's good for conservatives in the
long run.
