Kathy Groob for State Senate

23rd District

A Proven Business Leader for Kentucky

Kathy Groob is a successful businesswoman, an elected official, and a mother who understands Northern Kentucky’s priorities. Kathy’s vision for Kentucky includes economic and business growth, excellent schools, affordable healthcare, and a good quality of life for all our citizens. Kathy is dedicated to serving the people of Northern Kentucky, and throughout her long career has been a champion for the causes that most affect our daily lives.

Kathy brings the leadership skills and experience needed for success in today’s political environment, including being results-oriented as well as a superior listener and communicator. She is willing to put the interests of Kentuckians first and the interests of the political party second, and expects state government officials to be "customer-driven" in their approach to governing and making financial decisions.

The best indicator of how someone will perform in the future is to look at past performance. Here’s what Kathy has accomplished over the course of her career:

Business Experience and Responsibilities

Kathy Groob is Vice President, Integrated Services Division and Corporate Marketing for Paul Hemmer Companies. She is responsible for leading the services division that includes a staff of 89 people, developing new products and services, new business acquisitions, strategic planning, and marketing communications for the company. In addition, Kathy handles market research and customer satisfaction studies, as well as sales support, training, and public relations. An additional area of responsibility is as director of the community and professional involvement activities of Paul Hemmer Companies and its staff.

Personal Background

Prior to joining Paul Hemmer Companies, Kathy was Vice President and co-owner of Groob Consulting. She worked with a variety of clients based in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky as well as nationwide. One of those clients was Paul Hemmer Companies with whom she maintained a working relationship since 1983. Before entering her professional marketing consulting career, Kathy was Director of Marketing for Graham, Obermeyer & Partners, Ltd., structural engineering firm, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Kathy is married to Jeff Groob and they have three children; Kevin, 21, Jason, 20, and Meghan, 15.

Public Service

Through various community and education organizations, Kathy has devoted herself to public service. As an elected official in the City of Ft. Mitchell, she has worked to ensure fiscal responsibility, safety, and quality services to the citizens of Ft. Mitchell.
