We want to attract the "creative class" of people back to Louisville,
want business to locate here with good jobs to offer but our metro council often takes the opposite approach such as this.  Please call your council person to oppose construction moratorium ordinance.
There are three statements (*) at the bottom of this message that you can make with your call. Thanks.

Liberty in Our Lifetime
*******************************************************************
I am writing to you again about the Portland Moratorium.  It has gotten out of committee now.  This is a critical issue that needs your urgent attention!  We all need to contact our council person about the Portland Moratorium, please take action before this goes further. We are opposed to this moratorium since it would limit peoples housing rights, limit housing choices and affect the housing stock available in the Louisville area. Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D) and Councilman Willie Bright (D) have filed an ordinance with the Metro Council to:
*Impose a moratorium on the issuance by the Louisville Metro Department of Inspections, Permits and Licenses for the construction of new residential structures within the Portland neighborhood.
*Moratorium applies to any major or minor subdivision application received after the effective date of this ordinance.
Please call your councilmember to let them know your opinion about this or any other proposed moratorium. If you do not know who your councilperson is you may call 'Metro Call' at 574-3333 to find out. When you call give them your name and tell them that you are a voter in their district. You may call other councilmembers where you work or have any interest in.

Tell them:
*I am calling to ask you to oppose the construction moratorium ordinance.
*A neighborhood construction moratorium sets a bad public policy for the entire city and hurts real estate values and jobs.
*The Metro Council should seek investment incentives, rather than moratoriums to spur economic development.

CALL YOUR COUNCILMEMBER NOW!
