To the Editor:
With regard to the ongoing debate about Gun Control.....
Guns do not kill people, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE! Individuals have the inalienable
right to keep and bear arms and we the people need every weapon that the
government, or the criminal has, no matter how gruesome and disgusting the
damage the gun may do to the human body.
Gun control is the beginning of the end for freedom in America and any other
country that adopts this foolish and naive practice. Guns, and that means any
and all guns, are necessary and desirable for self -defense of the individual
and his family, like it or not!
I wish those of you who think gun control laws are a good idea would rethink
your position and change it, or either just say no to personal gun ownership
for yourselves, but please stop trying to create gun control laws and create
barriers to self protection for the rest of us .
The lessons of history will show you that before totalitarian governments and
dictators take over a country, they disarm the population, of course "for their
own protection and the children." Also, criminals don't obey laws, therefore
leaving law abiding citizens at the mercy of their armed predators. Even in
the best of situations, the police cannot protect everyone at all times. Mere
second's can mean the difference between life and death.
Gun Control is a very serious mistake. I venture to say it will and DOES make
matters worse, costing many more lives, and loss of more propery, than it
saves in reality!
