A letter writer to the Courier Journal wants Senator Seum and Jeff
Klusmeier to get the scrooge award. I’ll take one too and so will many tens of
thousands of people that agree that the VET was a waste of time and money. I was
at the VET funeral on Halloween night. I saw no humbugs.
“The Measly $11 annual VET fee?” Excuse me, that “little” way of thinking is
what allows government to nickel and dime us to death. Also, the $11 fee paid by
vehicle owners was only one part of the expense and aggravation. If you disagree
so strongly with the loss of the VET and the associated jobs why don’t you seek
out one or more of the previous employees and give them some of your money? What
is a “measly” $11 here and there?
Increased air pollution? Ninety three percent of the automobiles tested passed
the VET and still the pollution levels teetered on the EPA’s danger level. Do
you still want to blame automobiles? If you keep changing hair styles and still
can’t get a date, maybe it isn’t your hair that’s the problem.
Senator Seum isn’t responsible for helping responsible adults find jobs or get
unemployment. Former employees had a good idea that they were losing their jobs.
Art Williams and Jerry Abramson kept employees’ hopes alive by dragging their
feet on the issue. If you want to blame anyone for employees not being prepared,
blame the employees and then blame our Mayor and Art Williams
I support Sen. Dan Seum completely. I’ve yet to find fault with his stance on
any issue.
