The battle to persuade Congress to reject the FTAA may be the most significant battle The John Birch Society has ever undertaken. The internationalist trap known as the Free Trade Area of the Americas is designed to destroy an independent America and wipe out the American middle class. This new regional authority would steadily eliminate the ability of Americans to control their own future and to even enjoy the protection of our Bill of Rights. Yet Americans are being lured into this internationalist trap through deception.

The challenge is to build a groundswell of informed opposition supplying Congress with the backbone to stand up to media pressure and to reject the FTAA. The urgency to get started building this citizen pressure from the ground up is enormous as the target date for concluding the agreement is January 2005.
