Happy holidays!

I'm spending what will probably be my last extended period
at home in Cleveland before election-day 2004. During two
campaign swings earlier this month, I made at least 30
appearances in ten states plus the District of Columbia,
which equals the number of appearances and states during
the previous two months. And next month promises to be even
busier.

I especially want to thank all the volunteers who helped
organize events like these throughout the year. Your
dedication to the cause of liberty keeps me energized and
inspired on the campaign trail.

Our answer to the "wasted vote" problem that I outlined in
last month's newsletter is getting a great reception on the
road, and not just from Libertarians. Every time I've had
the opportunity to promote a campaign event on the radio,
limited-government conservatives and small "L" libertarians
have shown up to express their frustration with runaway
Republican spending and offer their support.

We've got a great opportunity coming up in January to get
the entire conservative movement talking about my campaign
and start generating some real media "buzz." More on that
in a minute.

As I said last month, I'm convinced that once we overcome
the "wasted vote" objection, limited government
conservatives and small "L" libertarians who are fed up
with the massive increases in federal spending and
explosion of deficits can be persuaded to desert
President Bush and vote Libertarian. Which is crucial to
getting the attention of the media AND making a real impact
on the size of government.

I've spent over a decade in the media dealing with public
policy issues, and I assure you that the horserace aspect
of politics is the ONLY thing that most reporters and
pundits pay attention to. Who's ahead - who's behind - who
MIGHT affect the outcome.

By establishing that we MIGHT affect the outcome, we can
become relevant and newsworthy. And if we manage to pull
enough votes to cost Bush the election, we will help
restrain the growth of government by bringing back divided
government. If you like small government, gridlock is good.

But first we have to get their attention. A few weeks from
now, the 31st Annual Conservative Political Action
Conference (CPAC) will be held in Washington DC. If we want
fire a shot across the bow of President Bush's reelection
juggernaut, this is the place to do it.

For years I broadcast from CPAC's "Radio Row." Last year, I
introduced NRA Executive Director Wayne LaPierre at CPAC's
Ronald Reagan banquet. CPAC is also where I officially
launched my presidential exploratory campaign with six
interviews on "Radio Row."

I plan to visit "Radio Row" again this year, and spend a
full day persuading limited government conservatives and
libertarians that deserting President Bush and voting for
Gary Nolan is the most effective way to apply the brakes to
runaway spending.

However, I need your help to make the most of this
opportunity. It's vital that we have a fully staffed Gary
Nolan for President booth throughout the conference. We
need to raise $1,200 to secure the booth, which also
includes passes for 4 volunteers to attend each day and
promote my candidacy.

According to the folks at CPAC, there are very few booth
spaces left, so we need to act right away to make sure
we're included. If you can help by making a donation today,

Or, if you prefer, you can use the form at the end of this
message to mail in your contribution.

We also need to buy airline tickets for January's busy
itinerary, which includes:

* College Convention 2004 in New Hampshire, where I'm
scheduled to speak to over 1,000 students from all
across America, along with Gen. Wesley Clark, Sen. Joe
Lieberman, Sen. John Edwards, Sen. Mosley-Braun, Sen.
John Kerry, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Rep. Dennis Kucinich.
[for details, visit http://www.nec.edu/cc2k4/, and be sure to
  check out the candidate pictures]

* Choosing an Independent President 2004, also in New
Hampshire, where I'll have a similar opportunity to
address America's independent voters. [for details,
  visit http://www.cuip.org/chip/chip.html]

* Two debates in Wisconsin between me and my principle
competitor for the Libertarian nomination, Michael
Badnarik. The LP is a major party in Wisconsin and we're
participating in their first-ever Libertarian Primary to
help build and promote the state party.

* A public policy address at the City Club in Eugene,
  Oregon.

And, or course, I'll be attending the Arab-American
outreach and fundraising events in California that I
outlined in last month's newsletter.

The first wave of tickets will run just over $1,100 - IF we
book them now. If we wait, the cost will go up and we'll
have less money available for other outreach opportunities.
Wednesday is the last day we can purchase some of the
tickets at discount rates - the price will be substantially
higher on Thursday.

Please help us buy the tickets we need now so we can take
advantage of advance purchase discounts, by making a
generous contribution at:
http://www.garynolan.com/forms/contribute.html

Finally, we need to print more literature (again) so we'll
have plenty to distribute at these important outreach
events. It will cost just under $1,000 to print another
5,000 brochures. But it would only cost an additional $500
to print an additional 5,000 brochures. The more we can
print at one time, the less each one costs.

We need to allow a week for printing and shipping - I speak
at College Convention 2004 a week from this Thursday. That
doesn't give us much time.

Help make sure we have plenty of literature to distribute
at every outreach event this month, beginning with College
Convention 2004. To donate, click here:
http://www.garynolan.com/forms/contribute.html

We have opportunities this year that no previous
Libertarian Presidential candidate has ever had.

* The opportunity to appear at events alongside major party
  candidates.

* The potential to affect the outcome and draw
attention to the LP as a result.

* The possibility of helping apply the brakes to runaway
  government spending.

These opportunities are before us now, but they won't last
forever. If we don't seize the day, someone else will. And
that someone won't be promoting our Libertarian vision of
small, Constitutionally-limited government.

This year we can really make a difference - but I need your
financial support to make it happen. Please make the
largest donation you possibly can to Gary Nolan for
President by clicking here:
http://www.garynolan.com/forms/contribute.html
or use the form below to contribute by mail.

Thank you!

Carpe' Diem,
Gary Nolan

P.S. I know that the holidays are the worst possible time
to send out a fundraising appeal. If we could afford to
wait until after New Years to ask for your help, we would.

However, the deadlines we're facing won't wait, so we can't
afford to either. I hope you understand, and will do
whatever you can today to help. Thank you.
