Who is the hypocrite? By John Riley (Addressing The Courier-Journal)
As your "newspaper" continues to flame the fires of the feud between yourself and Gov-elect Ernie Fletcher and Wes Irvin, you continue to expose your own hypocrisy. Newspapers such as yours no longer simply report the news as a service to your readers. You insist on "filtering" or distorting important information that your readers need in order to make their own "informed" decisions about what is and what should be. A very good example is your refusal to "report" on the Rep. Ron Paul v. FEC lawsuit which is currently before the Supreme Court and awaiting their decision. Could it be that you don't want your readers to know that you, and other "newspapers" across the country, claim superior First Amendment "free press" rights that are denied to your readers? Evidently, you can't explain to your readers why you think you deserve these special rights, so, instead of "reporting" the facts, you simply ignore them altogether. You obviously believe your readers should be angry with Ernie Fletcher and Wes Irvin for giving you the "stiff arm" treatment, which you so readily give your readers by not "reporting" the facts and the news. Do you honestly believe your readers would not be concerned about and interested to know that you claim to have and believe you deserve superior Constitutional rights than they? Can you explain to your readers why you think they must own a commercial newspaper in order to enjoy equal "free press" rights that you enjoy and they don't? The simple and obvious answer is YES, you do! But don't let your readers know. So, just who is the hypocrite? I think it is your "newspaper", but you can prove me wrong and give your readers "direct answers to the direct questions" above! In the meantime, I will enjoy your question and answer series with Gov. Fletcher and continue to get the real news elsewhere.
