PLEASA Dear Government, Leave my PIZZA  alone.

I am upset with the  Courier- Journal,  but not for the usual reasons........  I am not griping or complaining about liberal media bias or  editorializing  in the news. I   am upset because  they gave me too much information! Sometimes ignorance really is BLISS!!

 In the Saturday, Aug 2nd  Business section, I read , with much dismay,  the article titled " Deer-transport restrictions hurt reindeer owners",  and  thus proceeded to go through my daily " news- inspired" ritual of pondering the eternal question in my mind: When are the American People  going to  get tired of ‘Big Brother"  controlling every aspect of their lives?

 I should have quit while I was ahead, but I turned  the page, to see an AP article titled " Rule may leave  pizza lovers asking ,"Where the beef?  Now we are really getting personal.......

 Maybe I am naive,   but I actually thought(until today) that the recipe  for my favorite frozen pie was determined by   "Mama Mia",  consumer demand,  and the pizza manufacturer!!

 Boy , was I wrong ! It appears that  government   bureaucrats  control the percentage of meat  used as pizza toppings.  The  mere thought of the " pizza police", or the  "War on Pizza" makes me SICK!

 No more frozen pizza for old Donna Mancini.    The stuff will never taste good or be Fun anymore no matter what they put on it!!

 Is nothing sacred?

 From  now on,  every bite of  frozen pizza will be nothing  less than a reminder of the ever growing,   "Nanny -State" that America has become,  which  many people, unfortunately,( in my humble opinion)  call  “Progress."

  I guess I’ll have to start making my own  damn pizza, if I want  to control  my own Destiny!!

 I may decide to leave off the pepperoni and sausage altogether, or double up on the greasy stuff just for   the sake of  Liberty !

 After all, it’s the principle of the thing.
