Well, I suppose, we all knew it would come to this.
No matter that the
VET is still in operation, the air is STILL dirty (the dirtiest in the
entire nation, we are told!). And, so, like it or not, a VET you shall
have (apparently), regardless.
Meanwhile, the anointed saviors of mankind are endeavoring to bring even
more industry, people, vehicles (and pollution?) into our beloved, but
adequately polluted valley.
Not to worry, though, "they" have a "Plan," don't you know? They ALWAYS
have a Plan! Even so, I have one question, if I might be allowed; if
"they're" so smart, how come everything - including our air - is so
"fouled" up all of the time? It seems as though we go from one "crisis"
situation to another, like a joint at a Grateful Dead concert. I mean,
the VET program has been around for quite a while now; and cars continue
getting cleaner burning all the time, but it seems, at least according to
the "experts," that things just keep getting worse and worse.
You don't suppose we're barking up the wrong tree, do you? Or, possibly,
following the wrong "leaders"? After all, what is possibly happening at
the VET center - where 95% of all vehicles 'tested' pass - that is
cleaning our air? (Our pocketbooks, perhaps; but the air?) Apparently
nothing. I mean, the VET IS still in operation, isn't it? If it's working
so wonderfully well, and is SO vitally important, how come our air is
(still) so dirty, and getting dirtier?
