 Dear Resa,
You have written a superb article on the government schools.  I have much research on hand concerning the history of the Catholic Church in the United States. You are on point with your writing.  I am glad you are taking the pains to bring the truth of the origins of the government schools to light.
One marvels when contemplating where we go to get the vital necessities for our children.  For food, clothing, shelter, medicine, transportation, etc.,  it is the competitive marketplace.  And for education the leftists in both major political parties would have us believe it is only the government that can educate our children.   It may come as a shock to most people but eliminating government-funded education would NOT result in elimination of education.
The free market would work solutions and education services would develop naturally and much more efficiently in the private market than they ever had when run by government bureaucracy.  But then also would be lost the government indoctrination and  glorified baby sitting centers that the public schools have become.
Thanks again for your insightful article.  Ideas do indeed have consequences and you are helping to awaken the electorate to a true alternative to the tax and spend failed policies of government education.
