Militiaman describes Iraqi resistance http://www.dailycamera.com/bdc/middle_east/article/0,1713,BDC_10836_2099194,00.html
Media Ignorance by Walter Williams http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=2931 “Saving” Bay Meadows – by Thomas Sowell What the much-despised developers might do is build housing that could be afforded by people not as far up the income scale as those currently living in San Mateo County. That is why developers are so despised. … Not just in California, but all across the country, those who want to prevent other people -- and especially other kinds of people -- from living in the community where they live have created all sorts of red herring arguments and restrictive laws to deny others the same rights that they claim for themselves. http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=2938 Protecting capitalism from capitalists - According to a Zogby poll for the Galen Institute, a significant majority of seniors are satisfied with the drug coverage they have now, and many fear that they would actually be worse off under a mandatory government plan. They are right. Many will be worse off…. Raghuram Rajan understands that this is not the free market, but crony capitalism and an abomination to everything Adam Smith stood for. True believers in the free market must therefore fight it as strenuously as they fight socialism and other misguided government interventions. In fact, they should fight them more strenuously, because capitalism itself often ends up getting the blame for the inevitable consequences: high prices, high taxes, high unemployment and slow growth. http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=2932 Protecting the Innocent – Jacob Hornberger on erosion of legal protections http://www.fff.org/comment/com0307h.asp Will and Grace meet the Clampetts http://www.willowtown.com/freekentucky/columns03/hillbillies.html
Blacks remain oppressed, but not by White Americans - When my grandfather grew up, white people told him he wasn’t good enough, but black people said he was. When my father grew up, white people told him he couldn’t compete, but black people said he could. … It’s ironic. Forty years after the Civil Rights Act was proposed in Congress, liberals insist blacks are incapable of meeting the same standards as whites. It’s conservatives who believe in the limitless potential of blacks. http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=2906 Take no half measures in protecting doctors from antitrust - The Council should not fear allowing doctors to act in their self-interest. When this Council champions the rights of doctors, it champions the rights of their patients. Every doctor has a selfish interest to provide his patients with the highest standard of care. It is only proper that a doctor seek remuneration commensurate with his efforts. But if it is the goal of this Council to turn healthcare into an unquestioned right by denying the rights of doctors to pursue their monetary interest, the end effect will be to weaken and destroy the incentive for doctors to continue to provide quality healthcare. http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=2890 State of KY Immune despite social workers’ negligence leading to child’s death http://www.courier-journal.com/localnews/2003/07/04ky/met-3-appeals0704-2598.html
A cry from Zimbabwe http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=2936 Stand up and proudly champion the principles that have enabled you to earn your wealth and power: capitalism and the individual's inalienable rights to life, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness. Condemn every form of tyranny and tell the world that the political system created by your founders is the only noble system the world has ever seen. Tell every individual across the globe that no matter if he is black, white or Arab, the *only* path to freedom and prosperity is through the ideas contained in your Constitution and Bill of Rights. To modify a saying from one of your great founders, George Washington: Proclaim a standard to which the wise and the just can repair. Air and water issues – Global warming http://www.freedom21.org/alternative/chapter3a.htm#_edn40 The poor like globalization - The Pew survey found that not only was the attitude generally positive but there was more enthusiasm for foreign trade and investment in developing countries than in rich ones. http://yaleglobal.yale.edu/display.article?id=1934
Should religious leaders condemn gas guzzlers? Protesting car dealerships for selling vehicles that improve people's lives does nothing toward showing the way to transcendental truthhttp://www.acton.org/ppolicy/comment/article.php?id=146

All the news that fits its agenda - The problem I have is what Times editors have done to the front page and the other news pages. I have a problem with headlines that skew the facts. I have a problem with lead sentences that slant the story. I have a problem with the omission and distortion of facts in the guise of news. I have a problem with the use of labels, like "conservative" and "centrist," to manipulate the credibility of those quoted in articles. I have a problem with poll questions that are devised to provide a predetermined result and poll results distorted to reflect what the Times would have the public to believe, rather than reflect what the public really believes. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=33536
