RUSS MAPLE’S SHORT MEMORY

Remember back about 4 years ago when an innocent little 3-year-old boy was mauled to death by 10 dogs in a neighbor’s yard in Louisville?

Shortly thereafter, then County Commissioner Russ Maple was quoted in the Courier-Journal (Oct. 5, 1999) as saying “Anyone with more than eight dogs should have to apply for a kennel license”.

I believe Mr. Maple would never go into any yard, anywhere, anytime, if eight dogs, some of them very large, were loose there.

Later Maple and another County Commissioner said, “they were thinking about an ordinance to limit the number of dogs a person can have”.

No such ordinance was ever introduced and, unfortunately, most people have forgotten this tragedy.

I’m certain the parents of the little 3-year-old boy will never forget.

Now Mr. Maple is running for election as Kentucky Secretary of State.

No thanks Mr. Maple; your memory is too short.
