"We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle."--Winston Churchill

Education Lawsuits  - There is a Better Way     By Theresa Fritz Camoriano     A federal judge has ordered the Boyd County, KY High School to let a student homosexual-rights group use the school facilities for its meetings.  The majority of parents and the school board think homosexual activities are immoral, and they do not want their tax money to be used to support the homosexual-rights group.  However, it appears that they will have no choice as long as tax money is being used to support the school.   (Click to Read More)

The Rule of International Law     by Henry Lamb     There is no virtue in the rule of law, unless that law is legitimized by the consent of the governed. The people in Saddam's Iraq lived under the rule of law, as did the people in Hitler's Germany. Only the consent of the governed can give legitimacy to the rule of law.  (Click to Read More)

“Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched situation. No theoretical checks -- no form of government can render us secure. To suppose liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea. If there be sufficient virtue and intelligence in the community, it will be exercised in the selection of these men. So that we do not depend on their virtue, or put confidence in our rulers, but in the people who are to choose them.”

-- James Madison, Speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention [June 20, 1788]

"There's one form of bigotry that is still acceptable in America -- that's the bigotry against the successful." --Sen. Phil Gramm

Free State Project

“To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”

Thomas Jefferson
