BIBLE SCHOOL WANTS 666 PREFIX CHANGED

By Terry Gray

Well I guess for the most part they do have a point.  At first glance it does seem like a nasty dealing of fate.  But I thought that Christians left fate to God.  Did God do this and if so, for what reason?  I think that as a Christian and as a good P.R. person I would have a good time with this.  God gave you the distinction of being selected for this prefix and the tool to use it for good, or at least to make you stand out from the rest.  It is a marketing dream.

There is the other side of the coin of course.  Maybe you guys better take a look at what you are doing at your Bible college.  Maybe things aren't quite Kosher.  This might be a message from the all mighty himself.  If everything at your institute of higher learning is on the up and up then I'd say God did this FOR you, not to bring you down.

If you look at your telephone keypad you'll see that 666 is represented by MNO.  Boy there are a lot of acronyms that one can use cleverly to distract from the 666 distinction.  Of course there are always those who will see through to the evil representation of the number but that is all the more reason for a good spin doctor.  Make lemonade.

Master's Mission Orientation.  I like it.  It sounds surly and serving and has class.  I can hear trumpets and see marshmallow clouds in the distance.

Methodically Motivating Others.  Not as catchy but not bad either.  I don't like the “methodically“ part but that is just me.

Objective - More Mercy.  Well, it should be true but I'm not sure that it is catchy enough.  It doesn't seem to flow like the previous two.

I could continue with the acronyms but there is always just throwing the truth out there and dealing with it.  “Call us at 666- (what can we say? it happens) 1212.”  Or, “Call us at 666- (we've got a lock on 666 to keep it off of your forehead) 1212.”  Or, “Call us at 666- (we stare the devil in the eye) 1212.”

Or, “Call us at 666- (fighting like the devil for your soul) 1212.”  Or, “Call us at 666- (laugh with us on this one) 1212.”

I understand the idea behind wanting the number changed but I also see the usefulness of being dealt this card.  I say use it as a trump and hype it.  I don't think that God is going to look unkindly on you for this and if a caller has a problem then he/she is either too staunch or too lost anyway.  Have a sense of humor; you can't save everyone you know.
