January 23, 2003 Why are we tolerating treason? (And why are police killing innocent cows?) By Ed Lewis I read daily of horrible acts against the people of this country and those of the world. In every case, the rights of Man are defied by those who have been elected to serve the people in various government positions or hired by those in office to serve the people. Somehow, though, these elected/hired officials have forgotten their duty is to the people, not to the State. With this in mind, it has been said ~ "Of government, at least in democratic states, it may be said briefly that it is an agency engaged wholesale, and as a matter of solemn duty, in the performance of acts which all self-respecting individuals refrain from as a matter of common decency." - H.L. Mencken I just read on Keep And Bear Arms an article that epitomizes what Mencken meant, an event that is also a very strong indicator of the ever-deepening pit of hell we have allowed our country to devolve into. Some of you may not agree, as the senseless killing was just a bunch of cows. But, is that total of it? Here is a brief description of the event: "A cattle owner says Polk County sheriff's deputies senselessly slaughtered several of her cows, who were pregnant, after the animals escaped from their pasture and wandered onto a county road." ...
NOTE: The article may be read at: http://www.wftv.com/news/1921327/detail.html I grew up in a farming community and now live in that community after many years of travel. There have been many times that I have encountered cattle on country and secondary roads. I also grew up with the knowledge that cattle were basically stupid and needed help finding their way back through fences. So, when I encountered cattle that had found a way out of pastures, I would go to the nearest farmhouse that might have held the owners of the cattle so I could tell them. I took time to do this even if I was on the way to an appointment as I felt it was the right thing to do. Or, if I could easily see where the cattle got through, I would stop and do what I could to herd the cattle back into the pasture. Sometimes if I had the time I would find a gate in which to herd the cattle through. But, never in my life have I thought that I should shoot the animals nor I have ever encountered any other man or woman who thought cattle that got out through a fence should be shot and killed. Just how dumb are enforcers of law who think this is the proper method of taking care of what is for most people a simple problem to solve. Cops – with every negative connotation imaginable – who shoot cattle to control them, have got to be the dumbest SOBs ever born. Either that or they just decided it would be fun to blast the crap out of them, that they are above the law, and anything they decide is just fine and hunky-dory since their acts can always be justified regardless of how stupid or unconstitutional and deadly their acts are. Hmm, guess that means they are still the dumbest SOBs ever born, doesn’t it? I think every one of the enforcers involved – meaning the Gestapo-like thugs – who shot the cattle should have to not only pay for the cattle but projected income from the unborn calves and their unborn calves and their unborn calves – in other words, several thousands. I remember about 40 years ago that a jet flew over a farm near Whiteman Air Base and the noise scared a farmer’s cow to death. The farmer ended up receiving something like 36,000 dollars. No less for each cow shot should go to the woman in retribution. However, this should not be the end of it. They should also be tried for treason, unlawful use of firearms (were their lives threatened), conspiracy to kill defenseless animals – jump on it animal’s rights groups – and any other charges I could dig up in the 2,000,000 or so laws that are on the books today. Why treason? Well, gosh, Folks, cops are supposed to protect the property of people, not destroy it. They take an oath to uphold the Constitution, which means they must protect and serve the rights of the people. Anything other than this is treason. After being convicted, I think they should be hung – remember that is what happened to cattle thieves a century ago – in order to teach all other Gestapo cops that it could happen to them as well. You see, we have let this country fall into a shameless society in which gun-toting law enforcers pretty much do as they want with judges ordering juries – if the judge “allows” a jury – to rule any travesty committed by cops as being “justified” – the cop was just doing his duty. We now have as what were once supposed to be peace officers, though, ruthless and murderous violators of not only human rights but human dignity getting away with hundreds of violations against the Constitution and our unalienable rights daily. Simply put, Ladies and Gentleman, it is time “law enforcers” are replaced with peace officers who know they are servants of the people, that people cannot violate statutes written to control artificial entities, that we each as the sovereign have the rights to behave as we will as long as we do not violate the rights of others.
And, for God’s sake, peace officers that have enough common sense
to try to herd cows back into pastures or to hold them at bay while the farmer
is contacted. |
