A CRY FOR AMERICA

By Terry Gray

Kentucky’s budget is in a shambles and our governor is crying.  Maybe he should have been paying more attention to our finances earlier in his administration.  His attitude that his sexual liaisons cost Kentuckians nothing is the same attitude that lends itself to the budget deficit, not only by “Loose Pants Patton” but also by most of the politicians and all of the demon-crats.

Here’s the scoop on holding our kids up for ransom.  What if our beloved governor said we needed to cut some pet projects from the budget, things not needed as basic functions of government?  Education isn’t a basic function of government either, according to our constitution, but education is a “vibrant” button to push in preparation for a tax increase.  How better to get us to go along with a tax increase than to place education in a torture chamber and twist the money from us as a “benefit to our children-to our future”?  Where were the kids while our governor was holed up in a motel room with Tina Conner?

Any one of you reading this and buying into “Patton’s Ploy” is a fool.  Tell Frankfort to knock off the crap and return to the basic functions of government: protection of the people and freedom for the people.  Spread the word that you aren’t buying it and neither should any other intelligent citizen.  Tell the whining “soccer moms” that are sure to surface in the face of education disaster screaming for higher cigarette taxes that enough is enough.

And while I’m on the subject of soccer moms and cigarette taxes, where are these goody-two shoes that are always crying, “for the good of the children” when windfall revenue is guaranteed if casino gambling is legalized?  They are sadly silent in addressing gambling when they know good and well that “devilish” gambling will put more money in the state’s coffers and some of it will filter down to their cherished “government sanctioned mind molding institutes”.  Have another cocktail, Ms. Soccer mom and think about things from a realistic point of view.

How have we come to be a nation and society of whining, sniveling sheep that are afraid to buck the system and do what is right?  Aren’t you people ashamed that one life was ever lost to protect your freedom and your American way of life?  Every soldier and every patriot who has died, every mother that has ever cried over her dead son, every son entrenched in battle thousands of miles from home should understand that you are the reason for their suffering and death, and on you it is wasted.

I’m ashamed of the citizens of this country.  I’m ashamed that less than half of our people vote.  I’m ashamed that most of the voting citizens accept the product that is put before them as the prime of our country.  Since when are we represented?  How are we represented?  What are you hearing when a representative says that he’ll vote on an issue regardless of what his constituents think?  What is he telling you?  Is he representing you?

There is a tax hike coming, folks.  It is right there for you to see.  Are you going to let them blame you for their folly and shortsightedness?  They are going to make you, your children, your parents, and your freedom pay and pay and pay.  Are you Americans whose teeth were cut on rebellion, or are you pansies and wimps who have been spoiled by propaganda for so long that you believe it all?

I, for one, will not lie down.  I will fight.  I will fight the right battle if only to lose, rather than fight the wrong battle to win.  This isn’t America anymore, and I want her back.  I will fight even while you sit in your armchairs and whine.  I’M AN AMERICAN!!
