CORRECTION TO LINDY’S ARTICLE

By Terry Gray

In my article in The Jefferson Review.com on November 25, 2002, I made an error about the Lindy’s restaurant “loan”, which I would like to correct.  The “loan” was to be forgiven if the restaurant remained open for five years.  The bottom line is that Lindy’s is out of business and has defaulted on the “loan”.  Where’s our tax money?

While the surface of my information was erroneous, the government deed, no matter how worded or disguised, was wrong.  My mistake was unintentional; Dan Johnson’s was planned.  My error doesn’t negate the fact that the “loan” should never have been made.

The “loan” for Lindy’s was made in July, 2000.  The restaurant has been open for a little over 2 years.  Let’s hope that Dan Johnson’s visions of grandeur and his huge budgets for other projects don’t have the same outcome. His habit of spending our money can well get out of hand.
