Dear Mr.  Howington:

I read with great interest your article today on Metro section about  the
sad state of health  for many of our residents.

As the Libertarian Candidate  for Metro Mayor, I had just discussed this
issue at my press conference last Thursday, which was attended by Nancy Rodriguez,  and in my  endorsement  interview with the C/J on Monday  10/7 with David Hawpe, Mr Bennet, Mr Ford,  and Ms. Baye.   I have pledged to be a leader in  promoting good health habits,  exercise and  good nutrition as the New Metro Mayor, AND I  Practice What I preach !!

I   am educated  and have 30 years experience as a Registered Dietitian, and spent 14+ years at the health dept in community nutrition,   and I am quite aware of  our communities  poor  food and exercise, and smoking  record.

I see this as a major problem, as it is my goal  as a Libertarian to help
people  be the best that they  CAN BE  through   Personal Responsibility,
more freedom  and smaller govt.   Ideal Body weight and exercise are within  everyones own control, and  greatly affect a persons ability to live a healthier, more productive life.

I am 51, 5 feet tall and weigh  103 pounds. I exercise on the treadmill
about 5-6 times a week and swim 3-4 times a week.  I do not smoke.
I am telling you this because  I do not believe in" do as I say- not as I
do"

Anyway,  Thanks for   bringing up this issue in your article.   If you
revisit the subject, or know of anyone  else who  is, please  give me a
chance to   add some comments as the Libertarian for Metro Mayor......

This is truly an issue I hold dear, and could do  a lot to help  the
people in our Community, and I am VERY WILLING to try !!

 Sincerely,

 Donna Mancini,
 Libertarian  Candidate for Metro Mayor
