Making enemies of America – Thanks a lot, Bush by Ed Lewis
“Former president Nelson Mandela on Tuesday (September 17, 2002) continued his strong criticism of the United States over its threat to attack Iraq, declaring that the US wanted to bully the entire world.” (Africa.com News | 567MW Cape Talk, Johannesburg, South Africa
Folks, this is probably true except that “bully” is too light a word to describe the events being undertaken by the current administration. We are talking about plans that will ultimately kill perhaps millions. Do we care so little about human life that this is merely “bullying” into compliance?
When we think of peace, what is it we think of? This American believes that peace is self-induced will to get along and live with others, that it cannot be forced at the end of a cannon, rifle, missile, smart bombs, EMP weaponry, bio and chemical weaponry, and covert/overt actions taken to murder leaders or opponents to various governments.
We have been told Saddam Hussein does bad things to his own people and others; that he is planning on attacking America, and thusly, needs to be wiped out – that is – killed by Americans for his transgressions that will occur against the whole of mankind. But, this man has a problem with the “reasons” given so far by the US Government – justifications that seem only to suit the purposes of a few while second-handedly placing all of the world in extreme danger. But, no evidence is ever given; just pure speculation full of “maybes” and “we or I think”.
Don’t get me wrong. There isn’t much doubt that Hussein is a tyrant – okay, a murderous tyrant - but name a world leader right now out of those mentioned by the US controlled media that isn’t a tyrant and nearly or more murderous than Hussein. Name a world leader who does not willingly go along with the people of his country being oppressed into servitude or worse.
You can allow yourself to be whipped into a fury based on lies meant to accomplish just that. That is up to you. Ignore evidence and the fact that no verifiable facts have ever been presented by the US Government concerning WTC, bin Laden, Al Qa’ida or Hussein. You can even ignore the fact or deny that the US Government has invaded country after country in the past 60 years. It is currently operating militarily in almost three-fourths of the countries on Earth – and has others targeted (see Yemen below). Yet – peace does not prevail. But, peace doesn’t make any money for those associated with this and previous administrations, does it?
I have said it before and I will say it again – what Bush and his bunch are doing or intends to do to other countries – and within our own – is no different than you suspecting a neighbor has a gun that could be used to rob you so you shoot him dead.
Do that and then try the defense of, “Well, I thought he had a gun because I heard he did or that he was going to get one. If he did have one or was getting one, then he could use it to attack me since he doesn’t like me so rather than waiting for this to happen, I went ahead and killed him and his family. It must be okay because that is what Bush and the US Government does in other countries.”
Every country must have the capability of defending its shores just as each of us must have the means of defending ourselves. But, what is it when a country uses pre-emptive strikes without real regard to the killing of people innocent of any desire whatsoever to invade another country? In other words, just who the hell is any man – let alone one such as Bush – to judge that another leader is not acceptable and should therefore be killed. I can prove my local officials are a bunch of thieves and traitors who ignore the law and regulations governing them – does that give me the authority or the right to kill the lot of them?
Hasn’t every act of terrorism against Americans been due to the US Government’s involvement – at least since WW II – in other countries and simultaneously related to the control of energy, illegal drugs, and/or to rid some country of a leader who would not go along with the intentions of the US Government and the financial giants controlling it? And, because many in the country didn’t like their country occupied by US troops or its people killed by US ops whether overt or covert?
The use of force and intimidation simply cannot produce Peace on Earth, a concept that must be based on good will towards all Mankind, not which country has the greatest potential of mass killing. And the elite in or controlling the government knows this – but it also knows dummied down Americans are very easy to fool.
It is certain that many people won’t like this but facts show that the most dangerous organization of this good Earth is the US Government. Search deep down – do you fear Hussein and think of an attack by him daily – weekly - monthly? In fact, prior to the last few weeks, did you think about him or Iraq once a year – or at all?
And, if you do now but didn’t before, why is it you are thinking of him now? Do you believe killing Hussein and hundreds/thousands of Iraqis will stop world terrorism?
Thus, we should ask – Just because you own a firearm that could be used offensively or defensively, does it mean you will choose to use it offensively as in a pre-emptive strike? If a country has weapons that could be used offensively or defensively, does it automatically mean they will be used offensively, as in a pre-emptive strike? If so, then the US is battling nearly every country on Earth and certainly should be attacking Russia, China, Korea, India, Pakistan, and so on. Is this what you believe is necessary?
For those of you who blindly support Bush, are you willing to give your life or your children’s lives to support the man’s warmongering, especially when it has nothing to do with the preservation of human rights? Anyway, keep supporting the Bush Regime and its many treasonous acts if you believe it best to plunge the world into the chaos of the deadliest world war ever as Bush and company creates enemy after enemy. Keep supporting the “us” as proclaimed by the head “if-you-aren’t-for-us-you-are-against-us” warmonger –– but, by the heavens above, be ready to pay the consequences.
And it won’t be just in increased taxes and the like as in the other two “wars” the US Government is engaged in - - it will be in human life – perhaps your own – and complete loss of liberty.
PS - After this was written, the writer received an email from an English correspondent with a link to the complete letter of Saddam Hussein presented to the General Assembly of the U.N. September 19, 2002. http://www.iraqi-mission.org/ I suggest you read it rather than just relying on the reporting in the US Government controlled media. I was greatly saddened by Hussein’s thoughts; a result that I believe will become apparent if you should choose to and have the nerve to read it.
