The Lessons of September 11     By Pat Pending     It is now one year since the Arab Muslim Extremist Suicide Bombers flew jets into the World Trade Center towers and into the Pentagon, killing about 3,000 innocent people.  Since then, we have learned a lot.

Commentary – More on Northup “Scandal”; Mancini Wins Louisville Mayoral Debate; Ann Coulter’s Slander and Bush's Visit To Louisville     by Theresa Fritz Camoriano     More on the Northup “Scandal” --The so-called Northup “scandal”, which was created by The C-J over a routine and non-scandalous matter, becomes even more interesting when you note that The C-J planned and conducted a poll for the 3rd district congressional race just a couple of days after its scandalous headline.

Donna Walker Mancini's Closing Statement At League of Women Voters Debate 9/5/02     First, I want to thank the League of Women Voters for inviting ALL the candidates tonight.  Personally, I cannot comprehend the idea of a debate without ALL of the candidates, but the concept is alive and well in our community and across America.  My hat is off to the League and its commitment to giving the voters a real choice.

MADNESS AND IDIOCRACY (on fairness)     by Terry Gray    Oh, what has happened to us?  We have been through too many changes that are government inspired and funded.  We pay for these changes, and we obviously try to get our money’s worth.

Late Published Thoughts on the Sept. 11 American Bombings (And on American Empire)     Sean Gabb     On the 11th September 2001, I started out on holiday with Mrs Gabb to Greece. I was disembarking in a small airport when the bombings happened in America. We then drove off immediately to a small cottage in the hills above Chania, and did not go into town until we had eaten and drunk everything in the rather generous welcome pack left for us.

About Social Security     by Terry Gray (Libertarian Candidate 21st District Louisville Council)     The term Social Security has a strong implication.  It implies that it is a social tax devoted to the security of the aged, handicapped, and others not capable of relying on their own means to survive.  I have a very big problem with Social Security.  It is not a self-standing system.  The general fund steals from Social Security.

The Problem Is the Schools     by Sheldon Richman     I'll bet Michael Newdow doesn't care if private schools have kids say "under God." Newdow is the father who sued the government school district near Sacramento, California, because his daughter's school begins the day with the Pledge of Allegiance, which contains those words. An atheist, Newdow objects to the school's espousing a religious idea he doesn't share.

Free State Project

An enemy of liberty is no friend of mine. I do not owe respect to
anyone who would enslave me by government force, nor is it wise for
such a person to expect it. " Isaiah Amberay
