Anne Northup's "Scandal" by Theresa Fritz Camoriano This week, we have been treated to two days of front page headlines about Congresswoman Anne Northup's "scandal". Based on the placement of the articles and their language, you would think that Anne Northup was raiding the U.S. Treasury and stuffing millions of dollars of taxpayers' money into her pockets. If You Want To Succeed, Study Successful People -- Like The Valley Little League Team by Pat Pending On Labor Day, there will be a parade in Louisville to honor the Valley little league team, which just won the international little league baseball championship. We are all very proud of these boys and their accomplishments. If we want learn how to be successful, we ought to study how they did it. The path these boys have taken to success is simple and straightforward and has been explained to us many times in the past. EXTREME STUPIDITY CONTINUED By Terry Gray I wrote an article in the Jefferson Review on July 29, 2002 about the Extreme Park, called EXTREME STUPIDITY. I forewarned of the things to come. In paragraph three of my little expose’ I said, “The problems in the park will allow the city to create a few more little rules and open the door to more regulation. It’s a typical government scam.” WAS I RIGHT? You betcha’. The First Weapon By Gordon Francis Corbett Imagine that in 1943, one Jew discovered that Hitler's goons were going to ship all Jews, not for "relocation," but for extermination; and, that when he began warning his fellow Jews, his rabbi told him, "Come on, now. We must not start a panic." Heaven On Earth: The Rise and Fall of Socialism by Joshua Muravchik Review by Mark Webster This book chronicles the putrescence of socialism from Babeuf to Blair. In between, Muravchik performs post-mortems on Robert Owen, Marx, Engels, Lenin, Mussolini, Attlee, Nyere, Gompers, Meany, Deng Xiao-ping, Gorbachev, and Tony Blair. Some of these men were thugs, such as Lenin: some were buffoons, like Mussolini. Others, like Clement Attlee, who succeeded Churchill as Prime Minister, were humanitarians. The White House Shysters By John William Kurowski According to a Washington Post article, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A61040-2002Aug25.html “ Lawyers for President Bush have concluded he can launch an attack on Iraq without new approval from Congress, in part because they say permission remains in force from the 1991 resolution giving Bush's father authority to wage war in the Persian Gulf, according to administration officials.” Forget left/right, conservative/liberal, Democrat/Republican – THINK AMERICAN By Ed Lewis People get so hung up on labels that it is distracting and non-functional. After all, what was once liberal is now conservative and what was conservative is now liberal. And being left or right depends on one’s location on a continuum – as subjective a label as can be had

For the bulk of universities and colleges, diversity means race quotas, sex quotas and programs to insure that representative forms of sexual deviancy become an accepted norm. To insure this politically correct vision of campus life, there's one form of diversity that can't be tolerated. That's ideological and political diversity; there must be uniformity and identity. …. It means your son or daughter will be taught that the Founders of United States were racists and sexists; capitalism is a tool used to oppress women and minorities; literature and philosophy written by "dead white men" is a tool of exploitation, one person's vision of reality is just as valid as another's, one set of cultural values (maybe the Taliban's) is just as good as another, poverty is caused by rich people, and America is destroying the planet.
