Food Stamps For Kids      By Theresa Fritz Camoriano     We are all at least somewhat familiar with food stamps, which low income people use at the grocery store to buy food.  The food stamps enable the user to purchase the type of food he prefers to eat at the store in which he prefers to shop.

Wrong Again!  Response to the Courier Journal's Editorial  "A capable public servant" (About Art Williams and the VET)     by John Riley     Let me see, your paper supports Art Williams as "A capable public servant"!  But let's look at the facts which you neglect to report.

Thank God For The People Who Don't Fit The Mold - And For A Country That Allows Them To Thrive     by Pat Pending     Most of us are content to accept what we are taught by teachers and textbooks, to do as we are told, to get a mainstream job with a salary, to buy a house with a mortgage, and to raise our families in peace.

WACO-Rules of Engagement  A documentary video review by Woody Oakes     “Waco-Rules of Engagement” is the title of a documentary video I rented and viewed recently.  This is an Emmy winning, Oscar nominated documentary.  It was so compelling I viewed it twice.  This is the most disturbing documentary I have ever seen.  I learned a great deal from this video and I recommend it highly.

Why the West is Burning – The Problem With Federal Land     by Henry Lamb     It's too late to ask why the West is burning. Everyone already knows it is the result of absurd environmental policies that have prevented logging to thin the fuel, the "roadless" policy that prevents firefighters from having access to the forests, and the Endangered Species Act, which won't allow heavy equipment in critical habitats to cut firebreaks.

GREEDY AIRLINES     By Woody Oakes     Concerning the news that large people who cannot squeeze into a seventeen-inch wide seat on airlines may soon be required to purchase two tickets, I say GREEDY, GREEDY GREEDY.

WRONG-HEADEDNESS, NOT HEAD CASES, KILLS FORESTS     William Perry Pendley President and Chief Legal Officer Mountain States Legal Foundation     When the Hayman Fire, the largest wildfire in Colorado history, first began, the smoke billowed over my office in southwestern Denver. Outside, I could smell the fumes from flames fifty miles away. Worst yet, I could see the ash in the air!

What's so great about America?      Theresa Fritz Camoriano      I just finished reading Dinesh D'Souza's book entitled "What's So Great About America" and enjoyed it very much.  D'Souza is an immigrant to the U.S. from India and has the benefit of seeing this country as an outsider, appreciating many aspects of our culture that we take for granted.

Is Capitalism at Fault for the Current Financial Debacle?     by Ragnar Danneskjold     I have been reading stories in the mainstream media, blaming capitalism for the current market woes.  It's the greedy capitalists, they say, that are responsible for the faltering economy.

What we are really talking about are the teachers' unions wanting to keep a captive audience, for the sake of their members' jobs, and social engineers wanting to control low-income children and their parents, as they themselves would never want to be controlled.
