Candidate Survey - Louisville Metro Candidates Is It Really For The Common Good? by Theresa Fritz Camoriano While most of us regularly consider the effects of our personal actions on individual family members, friends, and neighbors, we usually do not think in terms of how our actions will affect "society", or the "community as a whole". Those terms usually come into play only when discussing public policy. Terms like "society" and "community" are very broad, abstract terms, which makes them very handy for those who want to make a cruel, harsh law sound very high-minded and benevolent. No doubt Hitler thought that killing all the people who were not part of the "superior race" would be the best thing for "society"! Justice For Victims of Coal Mine Spill? by Woody Oakes Near Inez, Kentucky, in Oct. 2000, The Martin County Coal Co. slurry impoundment dam burst and spilled 300 million gallons of a black, gooey mixture of water and coal dust, which contains toxic heavy metals, into streams that flow into the Big Sandy River, which divides Kentucky and West Virginia. Is It Better To Be Thought A Fool?? (The scandal of our education program) By: Theresa Harmon for The Federal Observer Every time I turn on the television lately (which I try to rarely do) and anyone is talking about education, all I keep hearing is how the new “No Child Left Behind” program is going to return control of the publicly funded schools to the local level. The question we should all demand a clear answer to is, “Why was control ever moved away from the local level to begin with?” Up until 1965, the United States had the best educational system on the planet. A system that allowed us to put a man on the moon, to explore outer space, to make huge advances in medicine and to build great bridges. Who suddenly decided that the local school systems weren’t doing a good job of educating our young and why? The answer is fairly simple if you know where to look; the power-elite, the New World Order crowd, those who stand to profit from a planned economy and those who believe our allegiance should be to the state and not to Almighty God.

"The taxpayer - that's someone who works for the federal
-Ronald Reagan "To you taxpayers out there, let me say this: Make sure you file your tax return on time! And remember that, even though income taxes can be a 'pain in the neck,' the folks at the IRS are regular people just like you, except that they can destroy your life." - Dave Barry
