Charles Stampul is correct
that our government will use the Sept. 11 attacks as an excuse to
eliminate the few final shreds of our Constitution which was intended to
limit the federal government (but, unfortunately, was not able to
withstand power hungry politicians). However, his cries for revenge do not
carry with them the desire for proof that the correct people are punished.
The people responsible should be punished, as prescribed by law, but our
government will most likely point us in the direction they wish us to go,
not necessarily the correct direction.
Why the attack happened is
extremely important. Why would a group of people want to expend the money,
effort, and people necessary to accomplish this? They must be VERY angry
with our country. Don't just assume that religious fervor drove several
men to commit suicide. Why were they that angry? Could it be that they
blamed the USA for the deaths of their loved ones? Could it be our
meddling in affairs between other nations that go back centuries, if not
millennia, that we can not and even they no longer understand?
Are the USA’s cruise
missiles, laser guided bombs, and other attacks such as in Panama any less
terrorist attacks than we endured on the eleventh? Go past the current
emotions. Really think about it. My opinion is that we do not have the
insight to solve other Nation's problems and that if we mind our own
business (we have many problems to solve for ourselves) we will not be a
target for terrorism from outside our country.
