THE
HATRED OF AMERICA IS NOTHING NEW
By
Don Carter
As
the last fires go out and the dust settles, we're faced with the daunting
task of finding out who was responsible for the terrorists acts against
America. Once found, their punishment must be swift and deadly. But isn't
it about time America realized there are millions of people the world over
who wish to do us and our way of life immeasurable harm? We have become so
accustomed to watching countries like Israel being attacked on the evening
news, that we tend to think we are isolated from such incidents. Not
true!! Americans have been under attack for many years. Our country has
been blessed with large oceans and friendly nations surrounding it. It's
about time that Americans realized that we're hated the world over. We're
hated for our goodness, our richness, and our influence the world over.
(Editor's note:
We are also hated for our interference in other countries'
business.)
Hating
America is something the world seems to love to do. We see our flags
burned, Americans killed overseas, and our allies murdered. We have waited
too long to settle the issue. Desert Storm is a prime example. We allowed
Saddam Hussein to flourish after the war instead of taking him out. His
arrogance and hatred towards America still exists. Quidafi of Libya still
harbors hatred towards America. Hamas, the Palestinians, Iran, and others
hate us. And yet, we've sat idled by only to watch Americans slaughtered
by the thousands. Granted America seems to exhibit a fair amount of
arrogance because we are the BEST country in the world, but does that
give countries the right to attack us? The answer is of course, NO!
And it's nothing new finding out that America is hated. Just look at the
Japanese, Germans, and the former Soviets. They too hated us and
in some cases, attacked us.
So
what is the answer? I think we must answer with deadly force. It's time
Americans realized that it's going to take sacrifice to take out the
people who hate us. If it means casualties then so be it. No war has
ever been fought without the deaths of Americans. In spite of the fact
that America lost only 300 or so people in the Gulf War, I think it's safe
to expect thousands to die in the upcoming war against terrorism. This
isn't going to be easy. It's going to be costly in terms of money and
people. Are Americans up to the task? I certainly hope so. American's must
face the fact that there could be thousands of casualties. But in order to
preserve our republic, sacrifices must be made. Rockets, missiles, and
airplanes won't get the job done. It's going to take ground troops.
Thousands of them.
American's
are a peace loving people. But once aroused, they can be a force to be
reckoned with. Nobody wants war, but nobody wants this terrorist act to go
unanswered. It's time to act swiftly and with deadly results. If it means
using tactical nuclear weapons, then so be it. Whatever it takes to get
the job done, then that's what needs to be utilized. Bullies must be
neutralized. Our country has been attacked, and we must answer in kind.
Our
way of life is under attack. We can no longer stick our head in the sand
and pretend hatred towards us doesn't exist. Those who choose to kill
innocent Americans must pay with their own blood.
