Your Tax Dollars At Work In Louisville, Jefferson
County, and Kentucky
·
In a recent
mailing to his district, Louisville Alderman Dan Johnson says: "After hearing cries for several years from people wanting a
quality restaurant serving home-style cooking, I am happy to announce that
those cries are answered. In
last year's budget, I placed $100,000 to be used as an incentive for
attracting a new restaurant. That
money to be made available to help with the large start up costs
associated with opening a quality restaurant.
After a lot of hard work by my office and the Louisville
Development Authority, we received several letters of interest.
As a result, we now have a new family style restaurant, Lindy's." It must be very hard work finding somebody to take a $100,000
gift! Thank goodness we have
people like Alderman Johnson, who are up to the task!
We can only wonder what other struggling restaurants in the area,
who were taxed to benefit their competitor, think about this development.
Also, we wonder if the people in the district had been allowed to
keep more of their money instead of having it taxed away by politicians,
wouldn't they be able to eat out more, which would attract the restaurants
they want without the benevolence of government?
(Alderman Johnson says he can be contacted at ddjohnson@louky.org or at
502-574-3090.)

Have you
seen the advertisements for the Patti LaBelle concert, September 8,
sponsored by the Jefferson County Health Department?
Tickets are $45. We
never realized that watching Patti LaBelle was so good for our health!
Thank goodness the wise people in the Jefferson County health
department are making such a good "investment" of our tax
dollars! Sometimes it is
difficult to tell that our county Judge Executive is a fiscally
conservative Republican!
