Do
you have a little more " Insulation" on your body than you would
like? (Hey the Gov't steals your "energy"
credits anyway!!) Does your Daily life lack physical Activity,
AKA Exercise??? Is your Marriage just ho-hum
these Days???
If the answer is YES to any or all of these questions then its
time to Reach for your mate instead of your Plate!!!
Lets get Physical!

First you have to get the Background story........
You all probably know by now that I was fired from County Government
for Chairing the Libertarian Party, Running for Congress, and
exercising what I thought were my " Inalienable" rights guaranteed
to me by the constitution (you know that old dusty "living"
document that they house in Washington for Tourists to look at Proclaim
how it guarantees that America is Free).......
Well, Folks, I was wrong. SO HERE I AM, But Beyond all that....
I am a Registered Dietitian, with 30 years experience, with a Masters in
Health and wellness........ So I want to continue to use my profession to
teach health and wellness. So YOU, the Lucky readers of the
Jefferson Review, will get my words of wisdom, but sorry, no vouchers
for milk, cheese or cereal.

OK.
Are you ready?? I like to keep things simple.
Our
bodies are a walking financial Institution. As living beings we require
food, and for efficiency’s sake, we store the excess (in Cd's or
savings) so we do not have to eat 24 hours a day to keep going. If
we were a car, when we ran out of gas, we would just quit running .If
the tank holds 14 gallons and we did not refuel, tough luck.
The car does not get fat, (store fuel) Visualize a bunch of Chubby SUV’s
out there ....... bursting at the seams as they waddle across the
Watterson.... 30 MPH instead of the usual 65+!!!!
We need to go BROKE and spend our savings!!!!!! Get our money out, put
it in checking, pay the bills, and live from Paycheck to Paycheck. Not a
good idea if we were discussing MONEY... We would want all the savings we
could get, so we could live comfortably in our old age, but our
stored food is killing us, making us uncomfortable, and will prevent us
from enjoying our Old Age!!! We need to balance our energy input
(calories in food) with our energy output (need for calories or Food)!!!!.
Our need for calories or Food is determined by many factors, like age,
gender, size, but what is most crucial in our day and time is ACTIVITY.
Most people are too inactive and eat more calories than they burn so
their body stores the food and they get Fat.
That’s it! Calories Count. Plain and Simple math (not
the Fuzzy math Politicians use).
So,,,,,,, get moving. Be as inefficient and waste as much energy as
you can, starting NOW!!!! You don't need to join a gym or buy any
fancy exercise clothes..... Just MOVE. Make multiple trips back and forth
the room to complete a task. Put laundry away one piece at a time. Walk up
and down the stairs, multiple times when you have the time to waste.
I know people complain that they have too much to do and no free time, but
I adhere to the idea that many people spend too much time sitting, doing
whatever, when they could be moving!!!! All you have to do is look around
you to see " Proof" as over half of Americans are overweight
at this time. Reach for your Mate instead of sitting
in front of the Tube after dinner ...... And, put some ZIP into it
while you are at it.!!(It doesn't have to cause any heart attacks,
BUT LETS LOOK ALIVE!!!
And Of Course, Count your calories. I recommend keeping a food log
of everything you eat and drink, and do mean everything. Many
times, we eat unconsciously, and consider the handful of chips or the
cookie at the office, tasting food while cooking, or the samples at
"Sam's" on Saturday! Count everything, and write
down the calories. Write down your daily exercise as well.
Seeing believes, and when we see what we did yesterday, logic concludes
that since we did not "die" from the exertion, we can do it
again, and try to go just a little longer while we
are at it!!!
An Important Point to consider: The calories in Beverages. In
my years as a dietitian, I have seen many people drink themselves into
obesity with regular pop, fruit juices, and sweet beverages of all kinds,
including Tea and coffee. Sugar has no nutritive value
and adds a tremendous amount of calories to our daily fare.
There are 3500 calories in a pound of fat, and if a person consumes
500 calories a day in beverages, WHICH Is NOT MUCH, that equals one
pound a week (7 X 500+ =3500) or 50 pound weight loss in a year!!
Just say NO to sweet drink!!!!! Drink Diet Pop, and unsweet coffee
and tea, and lots of WATER! Save your calories for your Food, Which
contains the Good stuff and Nutrients we need for a healthy body.
That’s all for now....... I have to get to start moving, as my
behind is getting NUMB!
