2. Bunning Blasts Senate Passage of
Patients' Bill of Rights
Calling it, "a handout to personal injury atorneys and a disaster for
the average American," U.S. Senator Jim Bunning voted 'NO' on S.
1052, the Kennedy- McCain-Edwards version of the Patient's Bill of Rights.
"I support a patients' bill of rights, but this bill is not about
improving health care for the majority of Americans...

America Should Resist European Calls for U.S. Peacekeepers
As events in Macedonia teeter between war and peace, the calls for
American participation in a peacekeeping mission increase. The basic
thrust of the arguments for American participation is that we cannot
become isolationist and that events in Macedonia have an influence on
America. But while the underlying premise is correct, the solution

Justice For All?
This spring, a tragedy happened here in Pike County. The lives of a young
mother and her unborn child were claimed on the way to the hospital.
Veronica Jane Thornsbury and her unborn child, Haley Notosha, were killed
on March 25. Their vehicle, driven by Veronica's husband, Troy, was hit
head-on by a red Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by Charles Christopher
Morris, 29, the son of Pike County Coroner Charles Morris (D).

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Greenup County GOP Loses Beloved Leader
The Greenup County Republican party lost one of its most vital leaders
last week. Mr. Lester Vance the Party Treasurer, died after a battle
with a short illness.
Mr. Vance was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Army. For
those who had the privilege to meet Lester, you know he was a man's man,
who called it like he saw it.
Lester was instrumental in Greenup County having a Republican Headquarters
(the 1st in it's history) in the 2000 elections.
We in Greenup County will sadly miss Lester, and will keep him in our
memories always.
