I spent the summer of 1962 at Notre Dame working on a Master of Arts in Teaching. I asked a professor just what the difference was between public & parochial schools.  He said that he felt that (at the time) the public schools might be doing a better job in certain areas, but the parochial schools did the best job of developing the personalities of the students. I believe that was true of my five children. They are intelligent articulate adults that think for themselves. One has his Phd in M.E., and two have post doctoral degrees, one in law, the other in surgery. Each has different interests and aptitudes, and they were encouraged to develop their potential. It was not easy sending them through the parochial school system, but God was generous.
