Bill to Require Congress to Uphold Constitution

May 25, 2001

Dear liberty activist,

Congressman John Shadegg (Arizona) introduced H.R. 175 - The Enumerated Powers Act.  H.R. 175 is a bill to require Congress to specify the constitutional authority for the enactment of laws.

Congressman Ron Paul (Texas) introduced H. Con. Res. 48.  The resolution is a sense of Congress in reaffirming the United States as a republic.

Constitutional expert and senior legal advisor to The Liberty Committee Herbert W. Titus has written "America:  Republic or Democracy?"  Mr. Titus references the recent Bush/Gore election.
