--NTUF Releases Study that Finds Marxism Alive
& Well in America This May Day--
(Alexandria, VA) -- The massive May Day military parades of the Cold War
era are harder to find in Communist nations today, but die-hard fans of
Karl Marx can still take heart. According to an exhaustive statistical and
historical comparison conducted by the non-partisan National Taxpayers
Union Foundation (NTUF), America's federal government has gradually come
to march
in lock-step with all of the ten principles outlined in the landmark
political document, The Communist Manifesto.
"Marxism has lost the ideological battle in the United States, but in
many senses it has won the political war," observed NTUF Director of
Programs and study author Mark Schmidt. "One need not be a Cold
Warrior or a McCarthyite to ponder the prominent role that Karl Marx¹s
utopian vision plays in American contemporary society."
Schmidt links Marx's principles, from centralization of credit to
"industrial armies," with policies in force in America today,
like
Government-Sponsored Enterprises and forced union dues.
