The Highlands Cottage School Open

The
Highlands Cottage School is changing its name to THE
HIGHLANDS LATIN SCHOOL and will
be offering many new classes for grades 3-12 for the school year
2001-2002.
OPEN HOUSE - Tuesday, May 22, 11:00 A.M. at the Highlands Christian
Fellowship, 1649 Cowling Ave. Come meet the teachers and preview the
materials for our unique classes in Latin, logic, apologetics, English
studies, Classical studies, and math, for grades 3-12.
Highlands Latin School/Memoria Press publishes many classical education
materials, including Latina Christiana, Traditional Logic, Intro. to
Classical Studies, Artner Reader's Guide to American History, Poetry
anthologies, Lingua Angelica, flashcards, ancient civilizations wall maps
and grammar charts. Thousands of homeschoolers and hundreds of schools use
these popular award-winning programs and you will have the opportunity to
meet the teachers and textbook authors, Cheryl Lowe and Martin Cothran.
Discuss classical education with them and register your child for classes
- or purchase materials for your own classical education program at home.
Usborne books will also be available for purchase.
In addition we will have information about our Latin Summer Camp for
students and our August Conference and Teacher Training.
You are also invited to attend the Awards Day Ceremony that begins at
10:00 A.M, an hour before the Open House. Students will give recitations
of material learned throughout the year and receive their awards for the
American Classical League Latin competitions. We have students as young as
4th and 5th grade winning honors in these national competitions for high
school Latin students.
