How much is 28 Trillion Dollars?
by Tom Beach,
Alvin, Texas
1. It's more money than the federal government spent from1990 thru 1999
(13.5248
trillion dollars)
2. It's more money than the federal government spent from 1980 thru 1989
(8.8244
trillion dollars)
3.
It's more money than the federal government spent from 1970 thru 1979
(3.2776
trillion dollars)
4. It's more money than the federal government spent from 1962 thru 1969
(1.108.5
trillion dollars)
Sorry,
that's as far back as my data source takes me (appendix E of
the CBO publication The Budget and Economic Outlook: Fiscal
Years 2001-2010,
released electronically January 26,2000 (available on the internet).
5. It's more money than the federal government spent from 1962 thru 1999
Combined !!!!
(by 1.31470
trillion dollars)
Summary:
If the federal government only spent 1.1085 trillion dollars from
1962 thru 1969, is it possible that they only spent 1.31470
trillion dollars or less from 1950 thru 1961? If so, then it's possible
that 28 trillion dollars is more money than the federal government spent
in the prior fifty years COMBINED
!!! If this is so, why are we arguing about a $ 1.2- or 1.6 trillion
dollar tax cut? It should be a slam dunk. Is this the definition of
limited government? I am really, really, really angry.
