A LETTER TO
THE EDITOR:
We are looking for black holes in the wrong place.
Instead of scanning the cosmos, we should be searching inside the
heads of our local politicians, where good ideas cannot escape the
gravitational pull of ignorance.
“Duh, let me see. The
NBA is down 17% in both attendance and gross income.
The TV audience is going down like the Titanic and the bottom is no
where in sight. What to do?
I’ve got a great idea! Let’s
spend $200 million and build a basketball stadium in downtown Louisville.
And what do we get for our money?
We get to invest in a failing venture and we get the super colossal
losers of all time, the Vancouver Grizzlies who win less than 30% of their
games. Yup, that’s the
solution to our economic problems. And
the really good news is that it
won’t cost the tax payers anything if
the Grizzlies triple their attendance and
maintain the increase for 21 years.”
Sincerely
yours
Don M. Heavrin
