Cheryl Lowe, author of the popular homeschool Latin course, Latina
Christiana, is offering a new course in Latin-LINGUA ANGELICA
Designed as a follow up to Latina Christiana, or as a beginner Latin class
for ages 9 and up, Lingua Angelica is Latin grammar taught according to
the methods of the master teachers of yesteryear, A TRIP STRAIGHT THROUGH
THE LATIN GRAMMAR. Through oral classroom recitation and drill, all
students can be successful in learning grammar, vocabulary, sayings and
beautiful Latin hymns and prayers. If you have ever wanted your child to
learn Latin or to learn it yourself, this is your opportunity. Course
includes textbook, workbook and music/recitationCD.
Time: Thursday 12:30-3:30 Cost: $45/month

LOGIC/RHETORIC AND CHRISTIAN APOLOGETICS
Martin Cothran, author of TRADITIONAL LOGIC I and II, will be teaching his
own courses as well as using Christian apologetics as practical examples
for argumentation. Traditional Logic I and II is a two-semester course in
systemic formal logic, the in-depth study of the syllogism. The first
semester covers: the three steps in knowing, the three ways statements can
be the same, the four ways they can be different, the seven rules for
validity, and the 19 valid argument forms. The second semester covers
figure and mood in syllogisms, enthymemes, the medieval chant for the 19
valid syllogisms, and case studies of many famous arguments from history,
from Plato, Descartes, C.S.Lewis, the Bible and many more. Course also
includes introductory rhetoric. For grades 8 and up.
Time: Thursday, 9:00-12:00 Cost: $45/month
