Held
hostage to the Federal Government
In your feb 14 article on the VET elimination bill House Speaker
Pro Tem Larry Clark says that he would “hate to lose the bridge, the
Waterfront Park improvements and light rail money” because of the
decision to eliminate the VET program in Kentucky.
It is too bad that he does not have the guts to stand up for what
is right and prefers to allow himself, and the community he claims to
represent, to be held to the Federal Government.
Where in the U.S. Constitution is there any reference to funding of
the federal government of bridges, parks, and light rail programs?
It is not right for the Feds to be involved in this type of
“largesse”. Yet they use
our own money to do so and then to hold us hostage to force us to do what
is against our will. We need
more people like Sen Dan Seum who will stand for what is right and face
the consequences, real or imaginary, rather than meekly put up with what
is wrong!
