Senator
threatens Fed independence
----------
by Al Cross
Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning now heads the Economic Policy
Subcommittee in the Senate. As chairman, he's expressed the
opinion that Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan should let
President Bush decide whether he can keep his job. Others,
including the Cato Institute's David Boaz, disagree, saying this
is a threat to Fed independence.
