Stirring words of the opening sentence of the American Declaration of Independence….obviously similar to what was on the minds of the 52 percent of Brits who just voted to exit the failing socialist European Union, a Socialist political contrivance of the highest order. Good for the Brits. The EU had it coming.
UK, the first EU domino, has wisely fallen out. There will be more EU dominoes, sooner rather than later. Certainly, the relentless, unchecked invasion of all Europe by Sharia-driven middle Eastern hordes has demonstrated to a majority of EU residents the absolute folly in ceding their lives to a clueless, distant, and ideologically-flawed government. Brussels has inflicted upon all Europe a toothless, dangerous, socialist pipe-dream. Why is it Europe always has to learn common sense the hard way?
What just happened in the UK is a wake-up call to Americans, who are also being forced against their will into living in a somewhat analogous situation. Washington, D.C. has become anathema to America’s founding principles. Against the backdrop of overtaxing, overspending, and over-governing, this government punishes success and rewards failure, bruising – or stealing – the incentive of all.
This government conspires to control every facet of American life, from the light bulbs we can buy, to the cars we can drive, to how marriage shall be defined, to the health care insurance we are allowed to have, to the healthcare we are allowed to have, to the public restrooms we may choose to enter….depending on the gender we might choose to be on any given day.
Obviously, I have left out a great many grievances and abuses inflicted on a formerly much freer American Citizenry. (It’s a long laundry list.) Suffice it to say, where government grows, liberty must yield. We are living through an imperial presidency, led by an imperial government, which has too many self-serving reasons not to oppose that imperial president or its imperial self. Truth is, too many government bureaucrats and too many politicians regard the American Citizenry as their spoils of victory.
The U.S. Constitution did not direct that American Citizens were to become subjects of corrupt, runaway government and the spoils of the political parties which jostle to mismanage it.
If ordinary, garden-variety Americans love their country, and see the Constitutional ideals upon which it was founded as the indispensable guarantor of their liberty, then they will rise up and put a stop to the abuses being heaped upon them. The Brits have started something old but misplaced, men yearning to breathe free.
Americans’ security has been compromised by a government (and leaders) derelict in their Constitutional duties to secure it. America is being invaded with millions of illegal immigrants. Millions have simply walked across the Southwest border, while millions more (primarily middle-Eastern Muslims ‘refugees’) have purposely been brought here, at the direction of the United Nations, with the American government’s complicity.
In all its ridiculousness, what Brussels fomented in the EU countries, the United Nations and the U.S. government are very likely fomenting here: Radical Islamic Terrorism, RIT, deliberately brought into our midst. Diversity might work in the ecosystem, but mindless diversity, for the sake of diversity, within any nation, is a recipe for bloodletting on a grand scale. Red ants and black ants don’t get along, either, you know.
America’s revered motto used to be E Pluribus Unum, or ‘Out of many, one.’ If the global elites continue to have their disorderly way, America’s motto may as well be changed to E Pluribus Pluribus. Out of many, many, the Balkinization of America, and its ruination forevermore.
So, what can America do to get itself back to where it was meant to be? We don’t want to start taking votes on whether to secede from the Union, as the UK just did with the EU. Our 50 individual states have much more in common with each other than the nation-states that heretofore comprise(d) the European Union.
The remedy the 50 American states already have at their disposal, that the EU nations had not, is our Tenth Amendment from the Bill of Rights, which plainly states ‘The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.’ That was the deal from the beginning, the States’ ‘get-out’ clause, the deal-closer, given by the Federal Union to each State, should the Union one day get too big for its britches….which it has.
So, it will not take 100 years to reverse the socialism that is dogging American politics. If a few conservative states will take the lead, and begin the process of nullifying the many over-reaches (tyranny) that are being imposed upon them, more states will follow, and the federal leviathan will soon be clipped.
Texans, nor any the rest of us, would need to vote to leave the Union if they would just use this Constitutional remedy already available to them. Through deliberate acts of nullification under the 10th Amendment, the states have within their power the means to derail this runaway federal freight train.
We have two presidential suitors left, would-be occupants to the Oval Office next. Odds are, neither of these two will perform toward breaking up the intolerable federal monolith. In fact, they each may exacerbate the problem even further. So, this is an invitation to any State Legislatures that believe liberty is the key to America’s greatness, that American Citizens’ servitude before their government is intolerable and hateful…..
God willing, let the Nullification begin.
