KY 912 call to action to help charity in need

Kentucky 9/12 call to action to help local charity in need. We will be bringing awareness to this organization along with fulfilling immediate needs they have. They do phenomenal work and are principled organization. With the heat index in triple digits and the summer just beginning they have an urgent need for 3 window air conditioners!!!

They do not take government grant money or expect politicians to take care of them. They rely on donations and help from people like you. Like the oil in lamp in Elijah each month they have just enough to keep this fire burning.

The founder was a pastor and a pioneer in leading his church to begin programs for many segments of society neglected by communities in the late 1950′s and 60′s. He was also a prominent democrat as well but politically he had a strong belief that it was not the government’s responsibility but that of the church to take care of the needs of its people.

Bob W. Brown was a man who touched “the least of these” his entire life. Now in its 35th year, the Bob Brown House stands as a testament to this man, his vision, and proof that we each can make a difference.

Their mission for their organization is “Opening a door to independence for the physically and mentally challenged.”

Bob Brown Home provides a safe independent home for adults with various mental and physical challenges. They currently have 14 residents of all ages and abilities that call this their home. What makes this home unique is that they do not focus on the “needs” of the residents but providing opportunities for these people in need.

They have some very immediate needs to take care of. Bob Brown House has been operating for 35 years and are constant needs now coming up:
Emergency need 3 window air conditioners
Patio furniture
Ceiling fans
Ongoing needs of non-perishable food and household goods

We will also be raising money this month for the Bob Brown House and our goal is one months worth of operating expenses for the home.

Donations can be made to us online to KY9/12 to support during the month of July http://www.ky912.com/2012/07/bob-brfown-house.html
