We are now less than 80 days to election day in Jefferson County. Republicans are polling very well and with your help, we can carry the GOP to victory on November 2. The Jefferson County Republican Party is in full swing supporting our outstanding candidates. But, WE MUST continue to work hard to be successful. The Patrick Duerr Campaign for 9th Louisville Metro Council will be co-hosting a VA Hospital Forum, with co-host Todd Lally for Congress, for all Veterans, their family and friends and all concerned citizens. The VA Hospital Forum will be conducted in Town Hall format and begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at the American Legion Post 2…01 located at 2919 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky. The American Legion Post 201 is handicap accessible.
During the forum, Veterans and other members of the public at large will be given the opportunity to share their views, opinions, and feelings about the proposal to move the VA Hospital from its current location to a site located in downtown Louisville. Patrick Duerr said, “This is their facility, and our Veterans deserve to have their voices heard. Their needs should be our primary concern.”
Patrick continued, “The purpose of this event is to provide a forum for the views of our Veterans, their loved ones and friends and the public at large, to be heard and help understand not only the medical needs of our Veterans but also the mental and emotional aspects of the unique nature of medical care for our Veterans.” Several speakers are scheduled to attend to share their knowledge of the VA Hospital.

Registered Republicans who have not changed their party affiliation in the last year are eligible to work. Election officers will be compensated $105 for working on election day. Anyone interested in being an election officer must attend a required two hour training session and compensated $15 for the two hours.
