Colonel Robert Howard, MoH Recipient Have You Heard of Him?

This link below was sent to me by SF Major (Ret) Mark “Zippo” Smith, and should be read by every American. Major Mark Smith is one of my heroes of the Vietnam War and is a former Prisoner of War of the Vietnamese communists in the south. He had many AK47 holes in his body when he was captured, having been abandoned, left for dead, by a fellow “soldier”. And no, unlike RINO Senator John McCain, Major Smith did not collaborate with the enemy*.

over, and you know what? He was also an accomplished gardener, imagine that! He gave back to his fellow Veterans too, through the Veterans Administration.
The article states, “The men who fought with Howard all agreed that he should have received a Medal of Honor for each one of his three citations—which explains why he was awarded two Distinguished Service Crosses (the second-highest honor, given in the Army). No matter. He had plenty of other gongs and ribbons. He had a Silver Star, several Bronze Stars, and eight Purple Hearts (though he was wounded 14 times). Then there was all the stuff awarded to him by the armed forces of other grateful nations.”
Excuse me for a minute… OK, I am back. I had to get out of my chair, stand at attention, and give a salute!
We live in an “entertainment drunk society”. Yes, I said that, and our stupid mainstream media will spend weeks, months, and years bringing the brain dead sheeple story after story about entertainers named Michael Jackson, Muhammad Ali, Paris Hilton, Anna Nicole Smith, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, and others but will ignore great stories about great Americans like Colonel Robert Howard who set a standard our young people should aspire to emulate. It sickens me. It is why I have turned off the television, no longer read the paper, and cannot pick up a magazine to read it, let alone look at the cover. There are even shows on television that entertain by talking about entertainment and the entertainers. This is beyond entertainment drunkenness; this is total inebriation.
Some queer blogger who goes by the name Perez Hilton is allegedly famous and wealthy and has said the most denigrating things about a Christian young lady, Miss USA, Carrie Prejean. The media make sure Americans know who he, er, uh, it is and hears what he, er, uh, it says. A coworker has informed me that one of Tiger Woods several adulteresses, one Rachel Uchitel, and some tatoo laden adulteress of Jesse James, one Michelle McGee, may get a reality television show which will make them millions of dollars as famous whores celebrated on the “boob tube”. The root of the problem here is the lack of integrity and morality of those who support all of this by watching it and supporting the advertisers who make it all possible. That’s right, the sheeple themselves are the problem. Oh, excuse me, am I hitting close to home? Good!
Politicians denigrate those who serve in harm’s way, undermine their missions, [See John “Ho Chi” Kerry and John “Haditha Marines are murderers” Murtha], and put our heroes into harm’s way handcuffed with Rules of Engagement that the word ridiculous just doesn’t seem to do justice. Then, these politicians run around in their yachts with their lobbyists at our expense, all while making a very lucrative salary with health care and pensions unheard of in the private sector. Then, the sheeple reelect them.

I don’t pretend to know what the practical answer is, but I do what it is not. It is not celebrating celebrity trash while ignoring those Americans who truly make us great. It is not, I repeat, NOT the entertainers in Hellyweird, New York, the music and sports industries and elsewhere that make America great. As a matter of fact, many of those folks are now on the side of those who seek to destroy America, one cultural value at a time.
