Hate speech
Hate speech is anything anyone says that disagrees with the left. By labelling the speech as “hate speech” and the speaker as a “hater”, the person on the left avoids the need to deal with the issue or consider the merits of the “hater’s” position. This enables the person on the left to maintain a feeling of superiority over anyone with whom he disagrees, since he is all-caring and virtuous, while the other person is an evil “hater”. It also gives the government a basis on which to silence opposition, since something as evil as “hate speech” surely should be against the law.
