Sarah Palin, Conservative or Party Girl?

March 28th in the year of our Lord 2010
The election of 2008 was a very difficult one for me to get through. Having declared McCain a liberal years earlier, and knowing that he turned his back on his fellow POWs and MIAs from the Vietnam War [See the DVD "Missing Presumed Dead" by Bill Dumas, nephew of Korean War POW MIA Roger Dumas], I knew he could not win, and truthfully, did not want him to win. I also saw no point in allowing the Republicrat Party to stay in power after what they did with the trust we gave them. I could, however, have been persuaded to vote for a Republicrat candidate had they put a real conservative up there.
Since they did not put a conservative on the ticket, I decided to stay home and not vote, something I had chastised others for doing, but I am here to tell you, never say never. I finally understood the level of frustration that people who stay away from the voting booth suffer through. I was done voting for the lesser of two evils. Then along came one Sarah Palin, a very energetic and charismatic conservative governor from the great state of Alaska. Praise the Lord, I was re-energized to vote, even if it meant pulling a lever that had the name McCain on it.
Yes, Sarah Palin got me off my frustrated derriere and I voted for her. Nobody talked about it but me as far as I can remember, but when Sarah Palin joined the McCain ticket, America had the opportunity to have two Blue Star Moms [Sarah Palin and Cindy McCain both had sons serving in harms way during the election] in the leadership section of the Executive Branch of our government.
Notice I do not claim that I voted for McCain. You see, I wrote him a letter in 2000, the year many Veterans, myself included, worked feverishly to keep him off the Republicrat ticket. I told him he would never be elected to the office of POTUS after what he did to our POWs and MIAs. I was right.
For some reason Sarah Palin, the lady who many of us “Tea Partiers” love to, well, er, uh, love, has decided to stick with liberal John McCain. She is making a serious error in judgment and has sealed her fate politically. I cannot name one of my Tea Party pals who has anything positive to say about Palin’s support for McCain and none have said they will continue to support her.
We like Sarah Palin personally, and respect her, but politically, it is over for Sarah Palin. Her 15 minutes of fame will slowly fade into the sunset now that the Tea Party folks have seen who she really is, and that is a Republicrat. We thought she was a conservative, but alas, with her actions these past few weeks, she has proved to us that she puts the Republicrat Party power structure above conservative values.
There is a true conservative named J. D. Hayworth running against the liberal Senator from Arizona, John McCain. “JD Hayworth believes that the 2010 election affords us the ability to reclaim our Constitutional Republic. J.D. believes the United States Constitution is a document of limited and enumerated powers, and that the rights not explicitly granted to the federal government are reserved for the States and the people.” [Borrowed from www.jdforsenate.com/issues] This is a far cry from what John McCain believes and his record proves it.
If Sarah Palin was more of a Conservative than a Republicrat, she would back Hayworth and tell John McCain, “Sorry Johnny boy, but you are not conservative enough for me. Thanks for allwoing me to be your VP running mate, but I have to stay true to my values.” Unfortunately, the nice lady from Alaska that gave me hope for getting a “regular person” in the White House chose instead to align herself with the Republicrat Party and all the liberals therein. I would have gone to battle for Sarah Palin, and indeed did when she was attacked, but now, she can call on John McCain and the Republicrat Party power structure when she needs help. I am busy trying to help Conservatives get elected and hopefully turn the Republicrat Party back to the right.
Losing Sarah is tough, but alas, I didn’t leave her, she left conservatives, just like the Republicrat Party has been doing for a very long time now. Sarah has misread us and misread what is on the horizon and that is that no party speaks for conservatives and we will only support those candidates who stick true to conservative principles, fiscally and socially as well. It is difficult to say goodbye Sarah, but we will not forget you. For a short time you gave us hope.
Emails received on this issue:
“I agree with you completely.
Unfortunately, this is more fodder for the Left, to call her a hypocrite. McCain’s opponent, J.D. Hayworth, is a REAL conservative, and a Tea Party member, who is strong against Illegal Immigration, etc. We all remember where McCain was on illegal immigration.
Backing McCain so publicly will cost her.”
“This is where I part from Sarah Palin.”
“She can do whatever she wants, but what this shows us
is that Sarah Palin is a Republican first and a Conservative
second. No Conservative can maintain their integrity as a
Conservative and support McCain, period.”
“Some may say, well, she owes McCain for putting her in
the spotlight. To that I say, WRONG, McCain owes Palin
for keeping his weak campaign alive. He would have lost
by a lot more had he not brought Sarah Palin into the mix.”
“This is not only a huge tactical error on Palin’s part, but it
also shows us where she really stands, and it isn’t beside
we who believe in limited government, free speech, and the
second amendment.”
