Rand Paul’s double-digit lead

New polling data out today from Rasmussen Reports shows Rand Paul beating either likely Democratic opponent in November by at least fifteen points. This reflects, of course, widespread acceptance of Rand’s message as well as his dogged determination on the campaign trail.

Rand started off this week defending Sen. Jim Bunning from left-wing attacks over spending reform. When one Democratic opponent tried to harass workers at Bunning’s Lexington office on Tuesday, Rand supporters showed up to fight off the attack and to set the record straight. That afternoon, Rand went on CNN to continue defending spending reform.

The spotlight on Rand’s growing campaign was brighter than ever Wednesday as literally thousands of news stories described opponents turning up the heat on Rand. As Kentuckians are surely learning, Rand Paul stays on message no matter what else is going on around him. His support for balanced budgets, term limits, and strong national defense has earned him strong support across the Bluegrass State.

And then, this morning Rand unveiled his first statewide television ad. You can watch it here.

On Friday, Rand will speak to the Grayson County Lincoln Dinner at Centre on Main in Leitchfield, KY at 6pm CT. Dinner is $15. Call Elois Downs for details at 270-259-3040.

On Saturday, Rand will attend the grand opening of his Northern Kentucky campaign headquarters at 11 am ET. Please join him at 8184 Mall Road in Florence if you can. Also on Saturday, Rand will speak at a fundraiser for Brett Gaspard, a state House candidate. That will be at the Holiday Inn in Florence at 7905 Freedom Way, starting at 3 pm ET. Then a private reception for Rand will be held at 6 pm ET. Call Bernie Kunkel for details at 859-486-3419.

The campaign also expects primary election poll results from SurveyUSA to be made publicly available this weekend. Stay tuned.

Sincerely,

David Adams, campaign manager
Rand Paul for U.S. Senate
